Peanut butter is great for health!

So here is the big thing! Peanut Butter as a lot of people say IS NOT bad for health! Its actually Fabulous for Health!

Is that news to you?!

Well, its good news and its absolutely true! Lets put the facts into order now:

In 1884, Canadian Marcellus Gilmore Edson became the first person to patent peanut butter. It’s been a food staple in North America for the most of the 131 years since, and i am sure its very clear why!

Peanut butter is beautiful in texture, nutritious and delicious. It creates a beautiful pairing, with different varieties of breads, honey, fruits, rice and quinoa crackers and basically everything. It has a very healthy dose of monounsaturated fats and is rich in the important nutrients.

I have been a peanut butter & jelly girl since i lived in Canada from the age of 5. And now at the age of 34, bread has been replaced by rice, oat and quinoa crisp cakes, and jam/ maple syrup has been replaced by honey.

Let me tell you how peanut butter is great for your body ( In moderation of course, about two tablespoons a day maximum)

1) You feel fuller for longer, and its curbs you from overeating all the wrong foods:

Peanut butter’s monounsaturated fat and protein is highly satiating. “Having peanut butter either on toast for breakfast, on a sandwich for lunch, or on an apple for a snack can prevent you from overeating,” says Ilyse Schapiro MS, RD, CDN. “But always consume it in moderation.” A good serving size is two tablespoons.

You can also create creative ways of eating peanut butter - my favourite breakfast dish is two dark chocolate Quinoa crackers with a spoon of Peanut butter on top of each, throw on some sliced strawberries and sliced bananas, and finish off with a drizzle of fresh honey. Add a Black Coffee ( no sugar ) and you have a perfect Breakfast to last you a long time ( great as an evening snack too! )

2) Its a great Energy Booster:

The proteins & fiber and super healthy fats in peanut butter give our bodies that necessary kick, which are great to start the day or even during the day when your body is slowing down, it gives you that instant energy any time of the day.  Almost like a healthy Red bull :D

It helps to keep blood sugar stable, which prevents those crashes later on.

3) Its helps in weight loss :

No i am not crazy. No i havent lost it. NOOOOO i am absolutely sane people :D

It is scientifically proven that even when a person is on a calorie-restricted diet, studies have shown that including nuts can help with weight loss.

To begin with peanuts contain more protein than other nuts – about 8 grams in 2 tablespoons. In addition to that lets bow down to the good fat and fiber content, and you’ve got a beautiful snack that will keep you full for longer. The final result is definitely a less calorie intake later in the day, as you are still a good full vs a lot of other foods which make you crave for more food. According to a study in the
International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders, peanuts can even increase your metabolic furnace. In that study, subjects’ metabolic rate jumped by 11% when they ate about 500 calories of peanuts daily for 19 weeks.

4) Healthier Muscles

Magnesium is an essential mineral for our body that powers more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Peanut butter is high in magnesium: Nearly 12% of your RDA in one serving. That means peanut butter can assist in body-temperature regulation, detoxification, energy production, the formation of strong bones and teeth, and maintenance of a healthy nervous system.

So all you all, get going with your daily dose of Peanut butter, dont just leave it for the kids!!!!!! Take a knife and scoop out a good two tablespoons a day.

You can thank me later :)
